Brit Pick
Thirty year old Anna Emerson is given the chance to spend the summer on a tropical island tutoring sixteen-year-old T.J Callahan. His cancer is in remission and he wants to get back to his normal life. But his parents are insisting he spend the summer in the Maldives catching up on all the school he missed last year. After their plane crashes into the ocean they make it to shore, but soon discover that they’re stranded on an uninhabited island. As the two encounter plenty of obstacles, Anna begins to wonder if the biggest challenge of all might be living with a boy who is gradually becoming a man. I loved what a quick, fun read this was. Such an unexpected love story that you can't help but get pulled into!

Brit Pick
First published in 1955, A Night to Remember remains a completely riveting account of the Titanic's fatal collision. This book is told through first hand interviews the author had with survivors and is a quick paced, fascinating read. I couldn't get enough!

   The Hunger Games Trilogy
By: Suzanne Collins

In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by twelve outlying districts. Long ago the districts waged war on the Capitol and were defeated. As part of the surrender terms, each district agreed to send one boy and one girl to appear in an annual televised event called, "The Hunger Games," a fight to the death on live TV. Sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who lives alone with her mother and younger sister, regards it as a death sentence when she is forced to represent her district in the Games. The terrain, rules, and level of audience participation may change but one thing is constant: kill or be killed. If you have yet to start this series, you are missing out on an incredible reading adventure!
